Volunteer Opportunities

Many of our social issues stem from exclusivity. We fight to bring as many people as we can to our wonderful world.
 

We have a range of opportunities available for volunteers depending on skill level and experience. Some common roles for our volunteers include directly interacting with students and working as an instructor to develop curricula and build community outreach programs.

Strings Teacher
Requirements

Demonstrated experience playing at the intermediate/advanced level at least one string instrument.

Responsibilities
  • Plans lessons collaboratively with SiA

  • Supports instruction by leading sectional rehearsals (depending or volunteer abilities)

  • Assists students with tuning and warm-ups

  • Works with small ensembles

  • Teach fundamental techniques and skills to students as required

  • Plays and models on their principal instrument as needed

  • It is able to identify students who need timely and specific assistance

Music Teacher

Requirements

Demonstrated experience playing at the intermediate/advanced level of any musical instrument as well as music theory.

 

Responsibilities
  • Plan music theory or choir/singing lessons collaboratively with SiA

  • Supports instruction by leading theory/singing rehearsals

  • Teach notation and music theory to students as required

  • Plays and models on their principal instrument as needed

  • It is able to identify students who need timely and specific assistance

English Teacher
 
Requirements

Demonstrated a solid knowledge of English language.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning in collaboration with the SiA English program

  • Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies
